Then suddenly, it was Summer

Its been a long while since i’ve posted here or on social media so it feels like its past time to check in.

Grief. I have been working through the sudden loss of my brother this spring - its left my head feeling messed up and my heart very heavy.   But I’m working through it, not trying to avoid the sadness or look for constant distractions. Its definitely been the most difficult experience of my life, we were the greatest of friends and the void is felt every day.

When I was able to turn my attention back to work, it was great to have a number of projects to focus on but beyond that I didn’t have the headspace to engage on social media and needed to take a total break from it. I haven’t even been looking at the feeds so i’ve fallen completely out of touch.

Then suddenly it was summer, Its hard to believe its mid August already. This is my usual summer downtime when I get to fully enjoy our beachside home and garden on the south shore. This year it feels more needed than ever.

As always walking the beach is been a favourite way to clear my head, I’ve been taking a lot of them and even had the opportunity to walk Inverness Beach while in Cape Breton for a project. The sky and the light was just etheral that evening. If you’re ever in Cape Breton, the beauty of this beach never disappoints its worth a stop.

I'll be back soon with some project updates at clients and at home.
